England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel has declared that he holds "no problem" with Phil Foden after the trio did not make the England squad for upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia.

Bellingham has not been recalled despite recovering from a shoulder issue, whereas the Manchester City and Everton players also miss out despite showing a return to form with their clubs.

The German manager revealed that the 22-year-old wanted to be included of the selection, after a conversation with him on the phone.

"Bellingham is a special player, and for exceptional talents there can always be special rules," the coach remarked regarding the Real Madrid star, who's only started once since coming back to full health.

"But we opted to stick with the simple choice of inviting the same group.

"Jude always deserves to be here. There is the factor that he has not fully regained his full rhythm yet at his club - he has not finished a full game.

"He wanted to be selected. We conducted a telephone conversation."

Tuchel was keen to highlight his good rapport with Bellingham after he said sorry to him earlier this year for describing his conduct during a match as "repulsive" in a live interview.

Tuchel stated that he uttered those terms "unintentionally" and would be more careful in future.

When asked if he had any issue with the player, Tuchel responded: "No. There is also no problem with Phil Foden or Jack Grealish.

"Phil is returning to influencing and shaping games for Manchester City. Jack is very close to returning to the top form of himself.

"There is no personal problem."

Bukayo Saka replacing the hurt Madueke is the only change to the previous team, with Loftus-Cheek and Quansah retaining their places after joining as late additions previously due to injury.

England play Wales in a non-competitive match at Wembley on Thursday before a World Cup qualifier in the Latvian capital on 14 October.
